Loving Lover

Floating and billowing down the runway, Lovers latest collection, The White Serpent, was the epitome of the modern, romantic woman.

I particularly appreciated the styling of this collection. The slicked back hair, bold red lip and simple shoe not only complimented the collection, but also gave it the edge it needed to stay fresh and modern.

Simple elegance and sensual glamor were definately on the minds of design duo Susien Chong and Nic Briand when creating this collection.

Dhini Took My Breath Away

I'm a little ashamed to say, but I haven't taken much noticed of Dhini in the past. However, this fashion week, I found it hard to look away! I absolutely loved the latest collection from Dhini entitled Birth, which seemed to be a very fitting title. It was the perfect balance of soft femininity and strong empowerment, demonstrated through sheer fabrics, strong shoulders, plunging necklines, subtle prints and breathtaking details.

So glamorous, so chic and just so damn beautiful!

RAFW SS11/12 - Trend Spotting: The Detail's In The Fabric

Whether it be crochet, cut-outs, lace or the use of sheer fabrics, detailing throughout the fabric was a HUGE trend on the runway this fashion week. Sexy, prim and proper, boho chic, or completely structured, this trend will influence your closet, whatever style you're rocking.

Some RAFW 11/12 Favourites...

Bold colour, playful prints and a streamlined aesthetic made for a fun and wearable collection.

Stolen Girlfriends Club
Always rocking a grungy 90's vibes, but managing to keep it fresh with injections of colour and prints - and completely loved the finale dress.

Wonders Cease

Fresh glamor, sophistication and modernity are among many complimentary words that come to mind when describing the latest collection from Wonders Cease. Design duo Emma Fitzgerald and Maryanne Edwards embodied such an air of 1940's elegance throughout their collection - including stand out pieces such as their full length, pleated maxi skirt, which was my absolute favorite. Other elements included racer shaped neck lines, beautiful fabrics, and a colour palette full of rich burnt oranges, deep teals, nudes and golds.

What I appreciated the most about this collection was the styling. It was slick, uncomplicated and just beautiful. It was sheer simplicity, and just let the clothes speak for themselves.

And I totes loved the little caps!

Karla Spetic Turns Me On!

One of the only designers this year that has totally made me lose my shit and drool all over myself at the same time (great visual, I know) is Karla Spetic

I don't even know where to begin. It was just one of those moments where I had absolutely no words (hard to believe). There was just total silence, and deep eye penetration.

OK. So I love the colour blocking, the bold crisp prints - especially where the print has been used as a cut out - the clean lines, and the strong shapes. This collection represents the kind of woman that is strong and powerful, yet playful - she's likes to have fun with fashion, but you know not to fuck with her! And what's more is all the pieces are totally wearable.

I hope I'm a little cash happier when this hits stores so I can at least have one piece to call my own!

Arnsdorf

The latest collection from Arnsdorf seemed to float effortlessly down the runway, showcasing a sweet colour palette of white on white, mint green, nude, and pops of striking pink and tangerine. Couple this with minimal silhouettes and airy fabrics, these clothes will compliment the modern girl perfectly.

RAFW SS11/12 - Trend Spotting: FLATS

So we've only had one day of shows so far, and already there are some pretty strong trends dominating the runway.

Here's one that totally excites me...flats! I wish I was the kind of girl that wore heels, as they are just so pretty, but I tend to opt for comfort every time - that, and every time I wear heels I injure myself (or fuck my hip up...tragic I know!)

Simply and strappy, or large and ankle hugging I'm looking forward to being able to walk this summer!
