Melbourne Bitches!
Hey peeps....sorry I've been so MIA lately, but it's a very busy time of year in fashion land!
So I had my first interstate job last week in Melbourne, thanks to stylist Marina Didovich. It's a little bit confusing, but the shoot involved a Sydney-based stylist, at a Melbourne studio, for the Canberra Centre Christmas advertising.
So it was all a bit of a fuckin whirlwind!
I wearily awoke at 4am last Wednesday. The cab arrived with Marina in tow and we made our way to the airport with our 7 suitcase for a 6am flight.
Once we hit the ground we headed straight to the advertising agency for a final run-through - with advertising you're given a very specific brief to follow so we just had to make sure that the ad agency and the client were happy with everything.
After the meeting we finally headed to our hotel...
Where I discovered that I had my very own room (and king size bed!)...
And then it was back to work to pick up a few more bits and pieces for the shoot the following day, before collapsing and having dinner in bed!
By the way, did I mention the mammoth amounts of coffee I consumed that day? This was my very favourite:
We arrived at 8:30am the next day for the shoot. It was basically non-stop all day, with my main responsibility consisting of wrapping all the "presents" and making a necklace and headpieces - I'm totes a designer now!
My wrapping and accessories were a success, as well as the shoot as a whole and we finally wrapped the shoot at about 7pm, where we jumped straight back into a cab, headed to the airport and went home.
So there was really no time to do anything but work, but it was such a great experience that I don't even care. And even better...I'm going to be back in Melbourne in 2 weeks doing the same thing for a Brisbane shopping centre!!!
So I just want to give a big shout out to Marina for having me assist!

I worked with Inez Garcia and Nick Leary for the first time last Friday on an Ebay job. It was a pretty intense day for me, as Inez is about 39 weeks pregnant! But it's always good to work with a new team.
