TROIS S/S 11/12

Yesterday I styled the spring/summer 11/12 lookbook for edgy, up-and-coming label, TROIS, shot by photographer Tim Jones. Designer Gabrielle Abela decided to change things up a bit for this collection, and explored her feminine side, finding inspiration in air and volume. I personally loved everything - especially the prints and colour combinations - and can't wait to wear it all!!! I also can't wait to sport the fucking hot jewellery by designer Alana Cerkesas, who designs exclusively for TROIS. Her spike necklaces create such a unique and raw shape, and are juxtaposed perfectly with Gaby's aesthetic.

I also want to give a big thanks and shout out to Alina Van and Tristan Blair for lending me some super hot shoes for the shoot - they totally saved my life!

I'll obviously be posting the lookbook as soon as I get it, but until then, enjoy these behind the scene's snaps.

Go team go!

I got my huurrrrr did and my skank stank!

So I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I quite often get stopped by total strangers and complemented about my hair (I know, I know...vomit). But see, it's not really fair for me to take all the credit. Most of it should be given to my amazingly talented hair dresser Michelle from Intershape. I just can't gush enough - the cut, the colour and most importantly...the fringe trim - any girl who has a fringe knows the importance of finding someone that understands your fringe needs. And the best thing is, I don't even have to think (insert joke here). Mich automatically knows what will look good, and voila!

So that's how I spent my afternoon today. Tough life, I know. But I can't be expected to be a savvy fashion stylist without good hair.

New York Ready-To-Wear A/W 2011/12

I luf L.A.M.B. The styling is so sick - a great balance of sophistication, with a hard rocker edge.

Jeremy Scott makes me smile. He is always so fun and whimsical and always full of relevant pop references. Yay!

I Assisted This Shoot...

Check out this fashion film I did with videographer Cara Stricker and stylist Sasha Leibowitz for V.S. Magazine entitled SENSA.

By the way, you gotta click the link if you wanna see the film in motion - below are only snapshots.

Yay my name!

Chanel at MCA

Last night Chanel put on a stunning show at the Museum of Contemporary Art, and I was lucky enough to get behind the scenes as a backstage dresser. I had two models, Annika and Jenny, who had two looks each, so it was pretty simple - and thankfully drama free.

I have never seen so many Chanel garments up close - the workmanship is absolutely breathtaking. Amongst the mix were ostrich feathers, classic tweed jackets with intricate beading details along the collar and cuff, mini shorts, floral prints and distressed jeans.

The set design was beautiful, incorporating high arches and a small, central fountain surrounded by pebbles - even the carpet, which was white with flecks of black throughout, mimicked the tweed fabric that is so inherently Chanel.

And as the live string ensemble belted out dramatic tunes, with the scent of gorgeous white flowers wafting throughout the space, the show began.

I love the adrenalin rush of the shows, but I was just upset that it was over so quickly!

Interning at NMI

I must say, as far as internships go, I'm fairly certain I lucked out with this one at NMI. The girls, Carla and Amy, are so lovely and make for a really pleasant work environment - and they buy me lunch!

My main tasks involve merchandising the showroom (which is great experience to gain) and doing a few graphic bits and pieces - which may even eventuate into some paid graphics work...so yay for me! Hopefully I'll learn how to write a press release and interact a little more with the industry people that walk through NMI's doors.

So this is basically what I've been getting up, and some of my favourite things so far:

The wall of terror after I worked my merchanidising magic on it!

New York Ready-To-Wear A/W 2011/12

Tots lost my shit over Rag & Bone! I'm in love with the graphic lines and fucking dying over the colour palette! Does it make you wanna be a nomadic, warrior, power chic with wicked attitude...or is it just me?
