Michael Donovan imagery utterly transfixes you (but mostly me) with the bazaar and the sexual. Evocative elements of rawness, playfulness and the disturbed are beautifully balanced and cannot be denied. And it is this tantalizingly twisted combination that is a particular weakness of mine.
I'm also intrigued by his experimentation with the medium - whether it appears to be ripping, burning, scrunching, layering or drawing, it adds yet another layer of visual interest and meaning.
